Crazy Folking Concept-In order to cut down on fatalities and traffic related incidents, police in Greece are giving away free CDs in an attempt to calm drivers. Complete with maps and different highway laws, the mellow folk music CD's have become quite popular amongst the native Phoenicians. The Grecian officials that were the architects of the progressively innovative road rage program said that they wanted citizens to be very careful while driving, and folk music is said to soothe the spirit. With already more than 100 fatalities this year In Greece, the country's stats rank amongst the highest in all of Europe. Along with the mellow folk music, Greek officials are also increasing the number of patrol cars and undercover cars in an attempt to slow drivers down and make them more cautious. Personally, I think the idea is brilliant. Coming from the country that founded ancient scholarly wisdom, it comes as no surprise to me. While the Greeks have chosen folk music, which indeed is very soothing, I have found Reggae works best for me during rush hour. I hope this article makes it up to the transit dignitaries over at the D.O.T. in Miami-Dade; maybe they'll come to the light, and issue copies of Babylon by Bus to all the citizens. However, with the flaring Latin tempers found on most roads in Miami, I don't know how much Bob could really help. Hell! Anything's worth a try in this crazy thunder dome. |
