If you find yourself unprepared for the weekend on Friday night, but in the mood to absorb some culture, go check out the Museum of Contemporary Art.

On the last Friday of every month, the Museum of Contemporary Art entertains the public with a highlighted featured event they call "Jazz at MOCA". For this night only MOCA opens it's exhibits for viewing by donation, and also offers a free concert on their outdoor stage located just in front of the museum.

This month's concert will feature a performance by the great world, Caribbean, Spanish, Pop and Soul Music ensemble of Mantra (World Music Ensemble).

On display in the Museum is a comprehensive exhibit by Anne Chu. The first full-size collection to date, this exhibit spans over the entire body of the New York artist's career from 1996 to the present. The exhibition covers a variety of pieces in the mediums of wood, cast paper, ceramic, bronze, embroidery, and watercolor.

Anne Chu's art has been described as a fusion of figuration and abstraction that incorporates both historical and contemporary themes that range from modern Europe to the Chinese T'ang Dynasty.

The Museum is located in the Joan Lehman Building at 770 NE 125th Street in North Miami. Museum doors open at 7pm, and the concert starts shortly thereafter at 8pm.
