Flava Flav of Public Enemy told us many years ago, "Don't believe the hype", but despite all the raving reviews movie critics are giving George Lucas's new installment of the Star Wars series, believe it. Lucas goes all out on the latest episode titled "Revenge of the Sith", which received a PG-13 rating by the MPAA for "violence and some intense images". The rating, which is the strongest ever given to a Star Wars film, is a foreboding of what to expect in the film as "Anakin Skywalker" turns to the dark side executing a serious deep rooted vengeance against the Jedi. All the main characters from the two previous episodes have returned for this latest installment. However, expect to see a few old familiar hairy Wookie faces, along with the new unfamiliar menacing face of the wicked alien droid General Grievous. In the new film, yet another epic droid battle ensues when Grievous's massive droid army suddenly attacks the Wookies on their home planet Kashyyyk. No worries though, Yoda has the Wookie's backs. With the release of the last part of the prequel, Lucas has announced he's pulling a Ricky Williams with the Star Wars films, giving them an early retirement. Nevertheless, don't be surprised if both Ricky and Lucas change their mind and come back. Let's face it, the money's too good and they both still have a lot left to give to fans, mainly Lucas who owns all the rights to the Post-episodes 7,8, and 9. Plus, I get the feeling that the latest episode will leave folks hungry for more. The film is set to release nation wide on May 19th, 2005. Which means if you're a true Star Wars nerd you'd better start camping out now in front of the theater for a first look. |
