Batman Begins Film Review

These days, it's not often that you go see a movie that leaves you with a lasting impression. Even rarer is when the movie providing such an impression happens to be a comic book film.

I knew more or less what to expect going into it, based on the fact that the cast and crew was filled with film titans, but I was really taken by the depth that the movie encompassed.

The script was incredibly well written, the cinematography and direction was superb, and the acting was excellent.

Christopher Nolan, who is best known as the director of the Indie-cult classic Memento, gave it his all in Batman Begins, not only with the incredible sequences used in telling the story, but also as co-writer to the script. The script is by far the best yet written for a Batman film. Not only does it answer all of the why and how questions, but it also takes you into the psyche of batman like never before.

The sceneries filmed, sets built, and costumes designed were marvelous. They added a great deal visually to an already rich movie.

The entire cast earned every cent of the payday, with a special mention to Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine. However, Christian Bale's performance as Batman/Bruce Wayne is nothing short of a masterpiece. My favorite batman to date, I feel he's been the only one so far to really pull off the true playboy/disturbed individual of Bruce Wayne as well as the rugged and powerful persona of Batman.

Despite the fact that Hollywood is experiencing a record low grossing slump, Batman Begins topped the box offices collecting a healthy 50 million in its debut weekend.

If you haven't had the chance to go check out the film yet, I can tell you now; you're going to love it. Without hesitation, I will go as far as to say that this is the best Batman film released to date.
