The British are responsible for yet another craze that is hitting the streets and enveloping the youth; Happy Slapping. The term refers to a youth craze that involves groups of teenagers armed with camera phones slapping or flat out mugging unsuspecting children (or adults in some cases) while capturing the attacks on video.

Happy slapping was born in the UK garage music scene. It comes out of the same basic school of thought that spawned slam dancing and mosh pits. Now the phenomenon has spread to the school yards and streets of London.

I can only assume that it is simply a matter of time before Happy Slapping performs a "british invasion" of sorts and hits the streets here in the United States.
