This Friday August 5th, The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) will be hosting its seventh annual installment of the Optic Nerve film festival. MOCA's annual film festival features short films by some of the most inventive and undiscovered film makers in South Florida. The films featured in the showcase are the winners that were chosen by a group panel from an open pool of submissions.
For this night only, there will be two screenings of the 40 minute long Optic Nerve program, as well as a roundtable discussion with the filmmakers themselves. The first screening will be shown at 7:00PM followed by the Starbucks Artist Roundtables at 8:00PM. The second screening will then be held at 9:00PM.

From July 29 through September 4 - 2005, the Museum of Contemporary Art will be accepting submissions for an upcoming mail art exhibit titled, "For Everyone and No One." The exhibit embodies the legacy of an art movement first started in the late 1970's that strived to stir the mainstream art business by creating original art works sent through the mail.
MOCA requires that the submitted works be original in content, and be postmarked and sent through the mail to:
Museum of Contemporary Art
Attn: Registrar's Office
770 NE 125th Street
North Miami, FL 33161
All works sent to MOCA will not be returned and will be a property of the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. (from MOCA's website www.mocanomi.org) |
