Fu-Tekken: Non-Fist
An Essay By: Richard Hirata
I call my style Non-Fist because of the very nature of the principle from which this style flows. I cannot directly explain to you what it is. I can only tell you what it is not.
I do not understand it as a style. It is more accurately understood as the absence of style. I regret giving it a name because any name, "Non-Fist" or otherwise, can far too easily obscure it's essence. This is not Non-Fist.
The Non-Fist embraces all styles and attaches importance to none. It is inherently void of technique, and yet it is formless, it can assume any form. This is not Non-fist.
There are no belts or ranking in the school of the Non-Fist. The skill learned is how to pick up the bloody sword of discrimination and hack away at everything you know of the martial arts. The only way to become a master is to always stay a beginner. This still isn't Non-Fist. |
