If you're a fan of the blues make sure to check out Freddie King on "Live at the Electric Ballroom". This live album, recorded two years before King's death in 1976, is a true musical gem.

Why? Well for starters it offers the only known acoustic recordings laid down by King. It is also offers a great sampling of the rough and aggressive blues sound that he was known for. There are only 10 musical tracks, along with a handful of interview clips, but the album makes up for its lack of quantity with an overabundance of quality. It includes fiery remakes of blues classics "Sweet Home Chicago" and "Dust My Broom".

Even though Freddie King is not quite as famous as the contemporary that shared his last name (B.B. King) his music influenced some of the greatest rock guitarists of our time. Six string legends like Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Stevie Ray Vaughan have credited King with influencing their style.

So whether you're a casual blues fan with little knowledge of Freddie King, or a seasoned veteran that already has several of King's works, make sure to pick up "Live at the Electric Ballroom". You won't be disappointed.
