Timberlake and Timbaland teaming up to push boundaries of "Pop"

When Justin Timberlake's new album, FutureSex/LoveSounds, comes out on September 11th, expect to hear a revolutionary new Pop sound.

Well at least that's what the former Boy Band star and Michael Jackson pal is saying. And for once, this might not just be baseless pre-album hype. Why? Because Timberlake has teamed up with highly regarded rapper and producer Timbaland, who should help give a nice cutting-edge feel to the music.

Timberlake claims to have gotten his inspiration for most of the tracks from legendary acts such as Marvin Gaye and Al Green. If he can even come close to matching their R&B genius, the album could be a critical, as well as commercial, success.

According to a Reuters report, Timberlake was quoted to saying, "I realize that I have a platform to push the sound of pop music. That's the only responsibility that I put on myself in recording the album. If I'm not going to push it, then who's going to push it?"

The first single from the album will be a track called SexyBack.
