Much to the pleasure of gay readers across the world, JK Rowling has revealed the long-suspected sexual orientation of Albus Dumbledore. Rowling outed the headmaster of Hogwarts on Friday while taking questions at Carnegie Hall, in New York.

Commentary: Gay-rights activists were still a tad disappointed that Rowling waited so long to out Dumbledore. Though readers had long suspected the fact, Rowling had never publicly acknowledged it. At the signing ceremony she also stated that she had to intervene in the sixth Potter film when the script suggested Dumbledore once had an interest in a girl.
