After the American Music Awards there is no doubt who will be the next music star in the land. I cast my vote for last year's American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, who has released her first album and single, "Tatoo."

Commentary: Sparks is the youngest Idol winner in the short history of the show. Carrie Underwood used Idol to launch her country music career while contestant Chris Daughtry and his bandmates collected three trophies for favorite pop-rock album, breakthrough artist and adult contemporary artist, at the most recent music awards. The smooth singing, unassuming Sparks seems likely to follow these two into superstardom status in the years ahead.
