A bipartisan forum, held Monday, focused on ending the gridlock in Washington featured New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. However, despite rumors to the contrary, Bloomberg declared that he is not a candidate for the presidency.
Commentary: The Oklahoma forum was designed to send a signal to the current presidential candidates that the public is tired of the bipartisanship that has marred Washington over the last 16 years. Amidst speculation that Bloomberg might run, many commentators thought the mayor would declare he was getting into the fray at the forum. However, experts now suggest that Bloomberg may be pulling back from considering a run given the recent success of Barack Obama who is running on that same platform. |
