Early votes in: Clinton finishes disappointing fourth with no votes

Yes, the Clinton For President campaign is reeling, but no one expected this: Hillary finishing a distant fourth in the Democratic Party primary vote with exactly zero percent of the vote.

Luckily, this result was merely the figure from Dixville Notch, the tiny town of 17 voters known for casting the traditional first ballot within New Hampshire's traditional first primary and subsequently publicly posting the results on a whiteboard. (Hey, they've modernized for the 21st century: It used to be a chalkboard.)

Wikipedia notes that in 2004, some 26 voters were registered in Dixville Notch and, in perhaps a sign of a bit of changing tide, in the previous Presidential primaries, "roughly half" were registered Republicans. This time out, Dems pulled 10 of the 17 ballots cast.

The final results in the village: For the Democrats, Barack Obama got seven votes, Earnest John Edwards two and New Mexico governor Bill Richardson one. On the Republican side, it was John McCain with four, Mitt Romney with two and Rudy "Dah Mayor" Giuliani.

And in Hart's Location (pop. 42), arguably "second in the nation," it was Obama, Clinton and Edwards with nine, three and one, respectively; and McCain winning the GOP side with six votes, Iowa sensation Huckabee five, Ron Paul four, and Romney one.

Mrs. Clinton has yet to comment on the latest hit to the campaign as dark clouds gather, but surely she's all choked up about it.
