Obama says Bill lied, fact-check websites do great business

No one can accuse Barack Obama of gutlessness, that's for sure. Again finding himself running second to Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Party nod in most polls, Obama is taking on perhaps the party's biggest hero: former president Bill Clinton himself.

The tit-for-tat began this morning (maybe; depends on who you believe, one supposes) when Obama stated on a morning television program that "President Clinton went in front of a large group, said that I had claimed that only Republicans had had any good ideas since 1980. And then he added, 'I'm not making this up.' He was making it up and completely mischaracterizing my statement."

Both leading campaigns have "fact-check" pages (and pages) posted online. Obama's on Clinton's recent statements is lengthy and a bit angry. Mrs. Clinton's campaign fact-check hasn't posted anything vis-à-vis Bill's imagined yuppie Obama, but surely the fact-check of the fact-check is sure to come.

Meanwhile neither site nor various X-for-President websites should be confused with the actual FactCheck.org, which finds both Hillary and Obama generally "dabble in exaggeration."

As for the former president being a liar, well, didn't he deflect that sort of accusation before...?
