The battle for the Democratic nomination for president continues to devolve into a mudslinging mess. Sunday, Bob Johnson, the founder of Black Entertainment Television and a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton raised the issue of Sen. Barack Obama's admitted past drug use.
Commentary: With the black vote set to decide the South Carolina primary, both sides were pushing hard to secure the support of African-American voters. The Clinton campaign accused Obama of distorting remarks that her husband Bill Clinton had made recently when the former president called Obama's war views a fairy tale. Clinton's campaign had previously denounced the drug references though the language used by Johnson raised the ugly specter of Obama's past once again. |
