Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales has at last released his new search engine, Search Wikia. Like Wikipedia, the new product will offer an open-source and community-driven process to refine the initial engine that debuts today.

Commentary: The much-hyped search engine has been dubbed "Google Killer" by some technology commentators.
However, the new engine is in a very early stage and because it is designed to utilize a community process for refinement it will need participation from users to grow to rival the seach engine giant. That said, Wales believes that within two years time his Search Wikia site will eventually rival the other commercial search engines from the likes of Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, AOL and Ask.com.
