Two horrific murders, one in Texas and the other in Florida, have left even authorities stunned by their brutality. In Tyler, Texas, Christopher McCuin reportedly called 911 and then "calmly described murdering his girlfriend and cooking her ear." In Lauderhill, Fla., a 12-year boy reportedly beat a 17-month old toddler to death with a baseball bat.

Commentary: Despite the calm call, McCuin at first held authorities at bay with a kitchen knife before giving himself up. Police spotted a pan that appeared to corroborate the man's claim. The twelve-year-old boy in Fla indicated he beat the toddler because she would not stop crying. The boy, left in charge of the child, reportedly became enraged when she again made noises while he was attempting to watch television.
