Jamie Spears, the father of pop star Britney Sprears, has retained control of his daughter's affairs for an additional three weeks at least. The court ordered the extension because a psychiatric report on the singer still had not been submitted to the judge.

Commentary: Mr. Spears' conservatorship had been due to expire yesterday. The new expiration date was set for March 10th. In addition to the extension, the court appointed Spears' brother Bryan, 30, and Los Angeles attorney Ivan Taback were named as the co-trustees of the singer's trust fund.
